
La Boca Bistro Bar is a newly opened Cuban / Caribbean fusion place offering great value food as well as drinks. Co-founders come up with this concept after many years working with top end restaurants in Singapore. He decided that now is a good time to offer something unique to Singapore especially with a rising demand of exploring new cuisine within Singapore
He gathers a team with an experienced chef previously from CeLaVi at MBS to create some interesting dishes.
Some of the dishes we have tasted pre-opening are as follows
1-Caribbean inspired fried salted cod-fish. This is a winner to me, as the codfish is of top quality and a perfect starter or even as a tapas to go with some drinks for the evening
2-Crispy plantain with homemade sauce. This is so thin and crispy that you don’t feel heavy having it and the sauce is the secret here
3-Pull Goat Curry on Flatbread. Homemade flatbread that is thin and crispy, with slow-cooked pull-goat meat and crunchy cashew on top. Defintely a unique dish that will be popular
4-Tempeh Picadillo. Cuban style vegan picadillo with fresh tomatoes, raisins, olives. Deliciously soft texture, very yummy
5-Mixed Seafood Stew. Tomato-based stew filled with delicious seafood makes it a great dish
The overall price is very affordable and without GST. Equally attractive will be their drinks when they are fully opened and they will serve beer and cocktails, especially rum-based drinks.
