Restaurant ATOUT is a French European in Dempsey. It is owned by Chef Patrick Heuberger, a Geneva-born chef who has been in Singapore since 2001. Atout means “asset” or “trump card” in French, and reflects Chef Heuberger’s passion and expertise in French cuisine.

I had a delightful meal at Restaurant ATOUT, where I enjoyed a four-course set menu that showcased the chef’s skill and creativity. The meal started with an amuse bouche of a creamy and flavourful homemade lobster bisque that warmed up my palate. The appetiser was a refreshing Japanese tomato salad with black olives, pumpkin seeds and herbs, dressed with extra virgin olive oil. I also liked the artisan bread basket that came with soft butter.
For the main course, I chose the pan-seared Angus beef pepper-crusted with mashed potatoes and brandy sauce. The beef was tender and juicy, with a nice char and a peppery kick. I also tasted the oven baked barramundi fillet with French beans and lemon butter sauce, which was another great option.
The dessert was a warm Fuji apple tart with vanilla ice cream. The tart was thin and crisp, with caramelised apple slices on top. The ice cream was smooth and creamy, with a hint of vanilla.
Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at Restaurant ATOUT. The food was delicious and well-presented, the service was attentive and friendly, and the ambience was cosy and elegant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
