Leading Luxury Lifestyle Brand CÉ LA VI Announces Exciting New Global Destination In Taipei’s Fashionable Xinyi District
Taipei looks to join the ranks of metropolitan cities like Singapore, Hong Kong, Colombo and Kuala Lumpur with the grand opening of CÉ LA VI Taipei on April 26th and 27th 2019. The new destination is already welcoming a mix of well-heeled locals, international guests and global business travelers (global luxury fashion designer Alexander Wang has already been spotted there more than a few times) to discover Taipei from a new perspective on the 48th floor of the newly opened Nanshan skyscraper, making it the highest rooftop lounge in Taiwan by more than 30 stories. The al fresco rooftop bar and restaurant are juxtaposed with sweeping 360° views of a vibrant and cool city on one side and the mountainous Yangmingshan National Park on the other.
GROUNDBREAKING DESIGN
CÉ LA VI Taipei houses a dining room, lounge and bar with musical accompaniment by a roster of hand-picked DJs. Its interior draws inspiration from the city itself, with clean lines and reserved tones evoking a refined elegance, an exclusive escape from the city, overlooking the sea that is Taipei’s downtown. The brand’s trademark red umbrellas rise above the tables, creating an intimate environment for each booth. With the installation of individual climate control at every outdoor booth nested within the rooftop haven, CÉ LA VI brings a rare luxury experience outdoors for the first time in Taiwan. This feature also makes the Sky Deck accessible year-round for its guests.
WORLD-CLASS MIXOLOGY
Beyond the deep mahogany flooring and slate grey booths, the centrepiece of CÉ LA VI is a one-of-a-kind all-copper bar, spanning more than 9 meters at the central south side of the restaurant. Inventive offerings at the SkyBar embrace the heart of Taiwan’s culture with a robust cocktail menu centred around international flavours with a Taiwanese twist. Featured libations like a Grass Jelly Milk Tea Cocktail, Taiwan High Mountain Tea Cocktail and Baijiu Cocktail (a hugely popular Chinese liquor made from distilled sorghum and rice) are on the signature cocktail list.
CONTEMPORARY ASIAN FARE
This is the first time a concept of this calibre unfolds in Taipei and also the first time an international lifestyle brand opens its doors in Taiwan. CÉ LA VI’s Executive Chef Joey Sergentakis, the mastermind behind the dining menu, with Iron Chef Champion Jason Licker who created the dessert and pastry menu, have worked in some of the most progressive kitchens across the world alongside Michelin-starred chefs where they fuelled their passion for local ingredients and built a wealth of knowledge. The menu is a creative blend of Asia’s most intriguing flavours that combines tradition and modernity, resulting in truly contemporary Asian cuisine. The Restaurant serves lunch and dinner as well as weekend brunch, featuring Black Tea Smoked Chicken & Foie Gras, Iberico Pork Jowl with Chinese BBQ Glaze and Raspberry & Yuzu Cappuccino.
A CUTTING-EDGE SOUND SYSTEM
The state-of-the-art venue is equipped with the finest sound system seen in high profile mega-clubs such as Marquee Las Vegas and Exchange Los Angeles. Designed by Audio 6 Taiwan along with Funktion-One UK, CÉ LA VI Taipei has been fitted with a system made up of 4x Resolution 2s, 28x F81 loudspeakers with 2x BR218 and 15x BR115 bass speakers that are altogether designed to provide an immersive sound experience that complements its sleek interior and cityscape backdrop. The system encompasses the entire indoor and outdoor areas of the 1,400 square metre space.
With the aim of providing a seamless transition from daytime to night-time, local and international talents have been carefully selected to bring a perfect compositional score. Entertainment will be further choreographed to feature an immersive experience of audio-visual technology, electric performances, and contemporary music. The combination is a transcendent experience of a curated soundscape that reaches new heights for Taipei City.
BRAND MILESTONE IN THE CHINESE MARKET
This is the first of several openings planned in the region, with Shanghai slated to open in the summer of 2019. CÉ LA VI has been conceptualised to act as a flagship location for the Chinese market with its architecture, design and menu all catering to a discerning clientele. It carries all the hallmarks of the brand that are rooted in rooftops across Asia’s iconic skyscrapers: a sense of arrival, breathtaking vistas, sensorial spaces, creative collisions are complemented by Asian hospitality.
The project is a joint venture by Taipei nightlife guru theLOOP, who has stepped up to the occasion after embarking on a highly-anticipated partnership with the CÉ LA VI Group. The CÉ LA VI Group is a part of LCatterton Asia, the private equity company owned by global luxury group LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy). The combined force brings a touch of luxury, a hint of cool and a lot of style to the skies of Taipei City for the first time.
