THE MARMALADE PANTRY ION ORCHARD DELIGHTS WITH NEW CREATIONS AND OFFERS ELEVATED DINING EXPERIENCE

 

Managed by Refinery Concepts, The Marmalade Pantry ION Orchard offers diners an elevated dining experience that is refreshing yet comfortingly familiar. Exclusive menu items range from new creations to three desserts, solely conceived for the outlet and conceptualized by Genevieve (Gen) Lee, culinary student, and MasterChef Singapore Runnerup.
Located on the 4th level of ION Orchard, diners can enjoy their fix of modern comfort food in the 2,389 square feet, 80-seater bistro with indoor and atrium dining options. Best known for its luxurious pasta, exquisite cupcakes, weekend brunches, and great tea accompaniments, the outlet offers a brief reprieve from the bustle of city life and shopping, daily from 10am – 10pm (last order at 9.30pm).

Diners can whet their appetites with new exclusive starters such as the Baked Camembert ($18++), which is paired with sundried tomatoes, capers, black olives, dried fruits, and sourdough bread or the Maryland Crab Cakes ($26++), a savory combination of crabmeat in a panko-crusted purse, served with a vegetable medley and homemade tartar sauce.

Fans of Asian cuisine can tuck into the mouth-watering Curry Barramundi ($28++), a fresh and tender fish, coupled with the spices and an assortment of aubergine, okra, and onion, in a flavourful curry sauce, and served on a bed of jasmine rice.

The Kimchi Fried Rice ($26++) is a Korean-inspired take on the donburi, topped with sous vide steak and egg, bringing together different new flavours and textures.

Not to be missed is the Spicy Sriracha Chicken Burger ($24++), a delectable combination of a spiced fried chicken patty, sriracha mayo, with mesclun salad and parmesan fries. The Grilled Pear and Arugula Salad ($22++) offers a healthy option and brings a fresh taste of rocket topped with the sweetness of the poached pear.

Enjoy a delightful afternoon or a mid-day treat with a refreshed Afternoon Tea Set ($60++ per set for 2 pax), available only at The Marmalade Pantry ION Orchard. The decadent two-tiered high tea set features new selections such as smoked salmon sandwiches, cucumber & watercress sandwiches, truffle egg mayo sandwiches, chili crabmeat sliders, and petite fours, in addition to buttermilk scones with candied orange & cranberry, strawberry preserve, clotted cream, and two signature cupcakes. Each tea set comes with two pots of artisan tea by Monogram.

Some of the bistro’s all-time classics will also be available at the new outlet. The Singapore Laksa ($32++) levels up with slipper lobster, dried bean curd, fishcake, quail eggs, tiger prawns, thick bee hoon noodle in spicy coconut broth, while the Spicy Crabmeat pasta ($26++) offers a satisfying treat with crabmeat, pine nuts, tomatoes, and chili.
The Marmalade Pantry’s signature Sticky Date & Toffee Pudding ($14++), with toffee sauce and daily-made premium French vanilla ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery, returns alongside cupcakes and other dessert selections available.

As part of an exclusive collaboration between The Marmalade Pantry and Gen, diners can enjoy three unique confections conceptualized by Gen, available only at The Marmalade Pantry ION Orchard from March to October 2019. They are:

The Blue Rhapsody ($10++ per slice, $70++ for a whole cake): Composed with layers of blueberry gel, lavender hazelnut crumble, and sponge cake, topped with cream cheese frosting, blackcurrant meringues, and a sprinkling of gold dust.

The Reimagined Kaya Toast ($14++): A playful take on the well-loved local breakfast dish, with pistachio sponge, coconut cream, brown toast meringue shards as well as Gula Melaka ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery.

Sunset in the Glass ($14++): Inspired by the land of smiles, the work of edible art is carefully crafted with lemongrass water, kaffir lime meringue, mango sorbet, fresh mango and spiced nuts – ideal for those who want a cool and refreshing finish to a hearty meal.
