Sumire Yakitori House hopes to promote that “smile is priceless” which encompasses both food and services would bring smiles to everyone’s faces.

1st Sumire was opened in Yutenji, Tokyo back in June 2009.

At that time, the image of Yakitori was just for men to enjoy with beer or sake in a Yakitori bar.

Mr. Yuzawa Tadanori, the President of Sumire thought it would be better if more people could enjoy the cuisine too. He would like to target & cater for families, office ladies, couples and many more to enjoy Yakitori casually with good atmosphere and service, thus, we change the concept from a Yakitori bar to a Yakitori Restaurant feel.

Till date, they have over 70 outlets in Japan.

Why name restaurant as “Sumire” ? Because the word “smile” in Japan is pronounce as “Su-Mi-Le” and it was a catchy name to use. Sumire Yakitori House hopes to promote that “smile is priceless” which encompasses both food and services would bring smiles to everyone’s faces.
