Hong Kong’s beloved Shanghainese eatery, Ging Sun Ho King of Bun, is making its first international debut in the heart of the Lion City. Opening on 4^thSeptember at Tampines Mall, Ging Sun Ho promises to bring its signature fun and internationally-acclaimed dining experience to foodies from all walks of life.

From Humble Beginnings to Culinary Stardom

After leaving his music career behind in 2007, Ging Sun Ho’s founder, Oscar Siu, set out on a new adventure to Shanghai where his fondness for the local pan-fried dumplings ignited a desire to master this culinary art. With unwavering determination, he sought discipleship from a Shanghainese master, dedicating three years to learning the intricacies of traditional dumpling-making.

Armed with his newfound craftsmanship and creative vision, Oscar returned to Hong Kong in

2010 and established the brand “King of Sheng Jian,” which later became known as Ging Sun Ho King of Bun in 2019. The name, symbolising a ship braving waves with unwavering resolve, reflects Oscar’s courageous spirit and steadfast beliefs.

A brand that embodies creativity and youthfulness, Ging Sun Ho has also made waves with its collaborations in recent years. A few significant partnerships include a partnership with popular American headwear brand New Era to release limited edition merchandise and meals, including caps and key chains that quickly became sought-after items.

The brand also tied up with airline HKExpress to introduce its signature Pan-Fried Pork Soup Buns and other dishes into the airline’s in-flight menu in early 2024, allowing passengers to experience their iconic flavours across borders.

What began as a modest 100-square-foot eatery in Mong Kok quickly grew into a culinary sensation. Ging Sun Ho became synonymous with its signature pan-fried pork soup buns, blending traditional flavours with modern twists to revolutionise Shanghainese cuisine. Through hard work and unwavering customer loyalty, Ging Sun Ho currently operates 13 outlets across Hong Kong as of August 2024 and has plans to open additional locations in the coming months, further expanding its footprint in its home country.

As Ging Sun Ho continues to innovate, it has introduced a variety of popular classic dishes, including the Shanghai Fried Noodles, Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles, Scallion Oil Noodles, and Soup Dumplings.

Featuring high-quality pork fillings, crispy golden base, topped with black and white sesame seeds and fragrant spring onions, each bite delivers a burst of rich meat broth, offering a true “Mouthful of Soup” experience.

The boneless Signature Pork Chop with Veg Rice ($14.20)* also remains a fan favourite on the menu with its tender texture and secret sweet and savoury marinade, which pairs excellently with their Shanghai-style vegetable rice.
